Just a short note following our meal last night to thank and your staff for a wonderful evening. We were looking for a 'halfway house' to meet with long lost friends - we live in Melton Mowbray and our friends in Kettering. We couldn't have found a more perfect retreat to 'wine and dine' - a lovely relaxing atmosphere, excellent food and efficient service - with a smile (often a rarity these days). So many thanks once again - we will most certainly be back.

Good luck for the future

My favourite pub is The Hatton Arms, Gretton a gem of a pub hidden away in one of Northamptonshire's prettiest villages. This is a very historic pub, lovingly and sympathetically restored in recent years. Heavily beamed with stone flags, exposed stonework and open fires, a comfortable cosy bolthole in the winter. With a pleasant terrace and views fron the restaurant over the Welland Valley to enjoy in the Summer. The food is superb with strong emphasis on local, seasonal produce, friendly service and a relaxed eating environment. Whilst locals can still enjoy a drink in the bar (dating back to 1300's) with fine local real ales and ciders on offer.

This is a very historic old pub with a recently added restaurant overlooking the beautiful Welland Valley. All the food is sourced locally where possible and freshly cooked to order - locally reared beef and lamb, Grasmere Farm pork, bread from a local bakery, and local fruit and veg. They also serve the local Great Oakley real ales and Rockingham Forest cider and when possible Welland Valley wine! Great atmosphere and friendly service.

Our favourite pub in the Welland Valley. What makes it special for us is the attention to detail, with as much food and drink sourced as locally as possible. Shouldn't all pubs do this?
