The
6th Welland Valley Beer Festival took place on Friday 20th to
Sunday 22nd June
this year. It was a fantastic event with pubs taking
part up and down the valley and vintage buses between them on the
Saturday. There was something for everyone, whether real ale drinker or
just there for the
atmosphere of this unique event, with The Hatton Arms again at its heart
with a full programme of events over the weekend.
Friday 20th June evening -
Skiberreen made a popular return
playing a great set of celtic/folk music
Saturday 21st - Andy Royle was a great success with his sing-along in the afternoon
'Stubully' - our local guitar/vocals duo Mark and Steve played a wide range of popular music which really got the party going
Sunday 22nd June - A great English tradition -The Rutland Morris Men made a welcome return appearance:
Grettons’s Got Talent – Many thanks to everyone who took part for a fun end to the festival. Local man Lee Wright gave a bravado opening below and it finished with a show-stopping performance of original songs from debuting band, Just Us.

Thanks to the breweries - especially Glen and Tony at Potbelly Brewery - for a super selection of 30 different real ales and ciders. There was still a good choice on the Sunday so it was judged about right this year.
The BBQ and hog roast went down a treat. The Gloucester Old Spot pig deserves a special mention as it was reared just for the festival on a farm in the village.
All over too soon, can't wait for next year ......
